PINEVILLE - Preparations are underway for a new 911 Center in Wyoming County.
Officials have been meeting with an architect to map out the new two-story building, which will also be the central location for emergency operations, according to Wyoming County 911 Director Dean Meadows. They are looking at a budget of $2 million, which they hope to pay through a federal loan.
Meadows said the need for more space is an ongoing issue at the current center. He said the new building will provide room for disaster training, among other things.
Officials hope to have construction begin in the early summer and move in by early 2015.
