BECKLEY – Those interested in learning more about the state's ethics act can receive free training next month.

The West Virginia Ethics Commission will offer a one-hour training session in Beckley on January 7 at the Raleigh County Schools Central Office, according to officials. Topics include the prohibition against use of public office for private gain and employment by regulated persons or vendors.

Public employees, government lawyers and the general public are invited to attend. Attorneys wishing to receive Continuing Legal Education credit must register for the session.
