VIVIAN - Two tracks affected by a major derailment earlier this week experienced their first train traffic Sunday after repairs.

Robin Chapman of the Northfolk Southern Corporation told Newswatch that trains have now passed through the Vivian area, but are asked to travel slowly until the new track settles.

On Friday, 17 fright cars and a tanker derailed leaving engineers and contractors much work. Chapman said workers replaced the track and reconditioned the road bed after containing an asphalt leak into Elkhorn Creek.
