UPDATE - A Mercer County man who was reported missing early Tuesday morning was found about 13 miles away from his workplace.
Sgt. A.P. Christian said that Anthony Testerman, 51, of Bluefield, was taken to Bluefield Regional Medical Center for treatment. Christian said that one of Testerman's coworkers at the ArcelorMittal mine in Eckman found home alongside Route 161 in Anawalt Wednesday morning.
Testerman was reported missing after he didn't return from work late Monday night. Troopers found his vehicle and cellphone near the mine that he worked at.
ECKMAN - A Mercer County man was reported missing early Tuesday morning after he didn't return home from his job in McDowell County late Monday night.
Sgt. A.P. Christian said that Anthony Scott Testerman, 51, of Bluefield, is 5'6" weighs about 220 pounds, has salt-and-pepper hair, and a goatee. Christian said that Testerman was reported missing at around 2:00 a.m. He said that troopers performed a location search of his cellphone and found his vehicle and phone in the area of Dry Fork near the large strip mine where he worked in Eckman at around 4:00 a.m.
Troopers and other employees at ArcelorMittal made up the almost 60 person search team that included dogs and helicopters. The search lasted all day Tuesday.
Christian said that according to family members and friends, Testerman had physical limitations that would prevent him from wondering too far and used an inhaler. He said anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Welch Detachment at (304)-436-2102.
