BECKLEY - Local Toys for Tots organizers are getting ready to distribute toys to thousands of deserving children across southern West Virginia.
The deadline for orders was Sunday night, but organizers are still filling orders for those in need. In the days leading up to Christmas, volunteers are organizing and packaging the toys.
"The idea of the campaign is hope," explained Toys for Tots Coordinator Jay Quesenberry. "Giving hope to deserving boys and girls at a very important time of their life."
Quesenberry said Toys for Tots helps give children a brighter Christmas.
Volunteers hope to have the toys organized and ready to go by Monday. Folks can still drop off unwrapped, new toys to the Beckley Auto Mall on Robert C Byrd Drive.
