BECKLEY - A Wyoming County pill dealer who had hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, illegal prescription drugs, and two guns hidden at his residences was sentenced to seven years in jail.
Delbert Lester, 55, of McGraws, previously pleaded guilty in August to possession of oxycodone with the intent to distribute.
U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin said that from January of 2011 to May of 2013, Lester illegally sold prescription pills to a confidential informant working with law enforcement authorities on eight separate occasions. He was arrested after law enforcement agents executed search warrants on both of his residences, one that he lived in and the other where he conducted his illegal pill business. During the search, officials recovered 190 30-milligram oxycodone pills, 155 10-milligram oxycodone pills, $570,000 in cash, and several firearms.
As part of a plea agreement, Lester forfeited the cash from the illegal drug proceeds that was seized at his home.
