SUMMERSVILLE - A Nicholas County car dealership is hoping to bring Christmas to children who will spend the holidays in the hospital this year.

Beginning now through Dec. 14, Northside Chevrolet in Summersville is collecting new and unwrapped toys, clothing and diapers for young patients at West Virginia University Children's Hopsital in Morgantown.

Residents are also welcome to meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus at the Chevy dealership on the last day of the toy drive.

Employees told Newswatch that some of the kids receiving the donated Christmas goodies were born the size of a coke bottle.

"I just appreciate everybody coming and helping out because you don't know how lukcy you have it," Mark LeRose told WOAY. "You're home with your family and kids, and you got these other families that are in the hospital that Santa Claus is going to be hard to get to them, so we're going to try to make Santa Claus come to the hospital."

Employees at Northside Chevy will give away two Corvette powerwheels to kids visiting Santa. Anyone who donates a gift is also entered into a drawing for $500.
