RAINELLE - Preparations are underway for Rainelle's Annual Christmas Parade this weekend.

The parade will take place along Main Street this Saturday, beginning at 6 p.m. The Rainelle Fire Department is organizing the parade. They will be presenting awards for the best floats, walking units and other categories. Santa and Mrs. Claus will close the parade.

Firefighters say the parade is a nice way to bring the community together for the holidays. "I hope they have a great time," said Fire Chief Shawn Wolford. "It's just a chance to welcome in the Christmas season, a chance for their kids to see Santa Claus...and just have that bit of tradition for their families."

Folks are welcome to take pictures with Santa at the fire department following the parade.
