CHARLESTON - The cost of a gallon of gas dropped ever so slightly in the Mountain State.

AAA East Central said the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded gas dropped by a penny during the past week to $3.32.  That's about 24 cents cheaper than the same week last year.  Prices in some parts of Fayette and Raleigh Counties were still as high as $3.45 Wednesday morning.

The nation's gas average was $3.26, which was two cents less than last week.
