UPDATE:

VICTOR - One person was taken to the hospital after a structure fire in Fayette County.

Dispatchers said it happened at 11:37 p.m. Monday at a home on Elliot Cutoff Road in Victor.  They said one person was transported to Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill for treatment.  No word yet on the victim's condition or the extent of those injuries.

The Ansted, Nuttall, and Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Departments all responded to the scene.

Kim Hatcher, a neighbor, told Newswatch the flames were far-reaching. “The sky was lit up,” she said. “It was just something that you don't want to see.”

Hatcher said it was the second time in a few years that this same family’s home caught on fire.

To assist the family, call Tim Naylor at (304) 640-2530. Immediate needs include clothing, a women’s size medium, shoe size 6 or 6 ½, men’s pants size 38 and Double XL shirts.
