UPDATE: Suspect identified in E Street home invasion

UPDATE: Beckley Police have identified the suspect charged in Tuesday morning's home invasion.

Eric Ian Day, 42, of Beckley, was officially charged and booked in Southern Regional Jail at around 4:04 a.m.

BECKLEY - Police netted a quick arrest after a home invasion in East Beckley.

Dispatchers said it happened at 1:01 a.m. Tuesday on E Street.  They said a black man armed with a knife went to a residence and took off with a wallet and a bag of keys.  No injuries were reported.

Cpl. J. Blume with the Beckley Police Department said that officers and deputies followed up on leads and were able to make a "fairly quick arrest." Blume told Newswatch that the suspect is currently being processed at the police department and will be taken to Southern Regional Jail to wait for his arraignment later on in the day.

The suspect will face charges that include: burglary, first degree robbery, and possession of crack cocaine.

His name will be released once he's officially charged.
