BECKLEY - A mine Christmas exhibition was back in business for another holiday season.
Appalachian Coal Town Christmas drew crowds by the hundreds night after night. Horse and wagon rides, marshmallow roasts, and underground tours were just some of the attractions. One coal miner said it became a tradition that gives his family a glimpse of his real-life job as a miner.
"It kind of freaks my wife out somewhat," said Ralph Filipek, "my little boy, he loves it. He asks a lot of questions and looks around when he is in there. It's a little different than what I do, but it's pretty close I can say."
Award winning homemade fudge was also on hand. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids. The exhibit will run next weekend too (December 6 & 7) from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
