CHARLESTON - The state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 6.2% in September and October.
WorkForce West Virginia said the number of unemployed residents fell by 100 to 49,400 in September, before it inched back up by 200 to 49,600 in October. Total state unemployment was down 11,200.
Construction jobs increased during the two-month period, while mining and logging employment fell.
The nation's unemployment rate fell slightly to 7.2% in September and rose to 7.3% in October.
These figures were delayed because of the partial government shutdown last month.
