CHARLESTON - Rep. Shelley Moore Capito said she tried to have her Congressional pay withheld during the partial government shutdown last month, but the U.S. Constitution required members of Congress to be paid.

So, Capito said she's donating her salary to seven charities in the Mountain State.  Those charities received more than $7,700.  The West Virginia Republican said that these organizations work to improve literacy, strengthen families, provide health care, preserve the state's history, and promote the arts.
