Good Morning and Happy Friday!! It is a warm one out there this morning. Temperatures are 9 to 19 degrees warmer than 24 hours ago. Most of us are in the mid 50s, but lower elevations are about 10 degrees cooler in the mid 40s. A light jacket may help, but remember, we warm up big time once more.
Today will bring sun to start and most of the morning and early afternoon will be quiet. Temperatures will warm up into the upper 60s and low 70s once again. After 3 or 4, showers and thunderstorms will be possible, especially in our northern counties. The further south and east you are, the later the showers and storms move in.
Scattered showers and storms are possible tonight, but won't be continuous through the evening. They will be more on and off in nature. Temperatures remain mild and only fall into the 50s once more.
A few lingering showers are possible early Saturday, but by the late morning and afternoon the sun returns. We warm up into the 70s for just about everyone.
Sunday will be perfect. We will see plenty of sunshine and highs will be in the mid to upper 70s! Those of you in areas near Pineville and Welch have a chance of hitting the 80s! Enjoy this, because changes work their way in at the start of the work week.
Monday will bring our next cold front. Recent models suggest the timing of this front will be a little later than previous runs indicated. Showers and storms will be possible late Monday afternoon and will last through most of our Tuesday. Temperatures before the front remain warm in the low 70s, but temperatures fall throughout the day Tuesday. We will start in the low 50s, but by the evening most of us will be below the freezing mark.
We clear out, but don't warm up much for Wednesday. Highs will only be in the low to mid 40s. Thursday will be better with more sunshine and highs in the 50s.
