MONTGOMERY - The West Virginia University Institute of Technology gives students a chance to put their science and art skills to work.

It's the regional science and art fair in Montgomery where middle and high school students showcase their knowledge in biology and physical sciences, and they even tried making paper airplanes to see how far they would go by designing them each differently. Organizers say it's something the school does for students to take pride in their work.

"I think it means a lot to the kids who are participating, it gives them an opportunity to explore their artistic and scientific side. They're approximately 50 students that are participating in various events from space to art projects," said Mark Jones.
