UPDATE 11/18/13: BECKLEY - Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened Saturday just before 7 PM at the Shell station located next to Hardees on Harper Road. Surveillance video obtained by the Beckley Police Department shows the suspect is a white male who was wearing camouflage pants, a dark hooded sweatshirt and a black and white hat. He took an undisclosed amount of cash while holding a small silver and black handgun. No one was injured in the incident and detectives explain a possible motive for the robbery.

"Having worked lots of these cases, most all cases in some way go back to drugs. Obviously this is a financial type robbery to get money and in turn I would say most of that is for drugs or alcohol would be the motive for this," said Detective Sgt. David Allard with the Beckley Police Department.

Detective Allard says there is a cash reward for anyone who can help police find the suspect and you can remain anonymous. Call the Beckley Police Department at (304) 256-1708 or Crime Stoppers at 304-256-1700.
