CEDAR BLUFF - Authorities suspended the search for a Tazewell County hunter who was reported missing a week ago.
Cedar Bluff Police Chief David Mills said the ground search was halted Thursday for Eric Smith, 41, and probably won't resume until new leads are received.
Smith was reported missing on November 8 when he left his home to go hunting in the woods that surrounded his home. His co-workers at CONSOL Energy volunteered their time and the company also loaned it's search and rescue team.
State police, local police and fire departments, crews with the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, helicopters, along with search and rescue dogs all provided their assistance in the search.
