BECKLEY - An Ohio man was sentenced to five years in jail for possessing a loaded pistol and powerful prescription pain pills.
Thomas William Dyer, 58, of Columbus, pleaded guilty in July to carrying a loaded firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime. U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin said that Dyer was arrested in January after a controlled buy that took place in and around New Richmond in Wyoming County.
Goodwin said that during the search, police found six firearms and 130 Oxycodone pills at a residence.
