BECKLEY - Middle schoolers in Raleigh County learned about different career paths.

Eighth graders at Beckley-Stratton and Shady Spring Middle Schools attended Career Day, which was presented by the Chamber of Commerce Education Committee. Students learned about five areas of business, including health and hospitality. Organizers said this encouraged students to start thinking about potential careers and how to get a job.

Student Brooklyn Lambert explained how the Career Day benefited her. "I want to go into the medical field and the nursing one gave an insight on what impact it has on people," she said.

Around ten organizations were represented. Eighth graders from the remaining Raleigh County Middle Schools will attend career day on November 14.
