Ronceverte man charged with sex crimes

RONCEVERTE - A Greenbrier County man was arrested Wednesday for alleged sex crimes.

Woodrow Martin Smith, 63, of Ronceverte, was charged with three counts of third degree sexual assault.  First Sergeant Michael Baylous with the West Virginia State Police said that the Lewisburg Detachment took a complaint regarding a sex crime that happened in the 1980s.  Baylous said that the victim told troopers he was a juvenile when Smith sexually abused/assaulted him on numerous occasions in the Ronceverte area.

After further investigation, troopers found probably cause to make an arrest.  Baylous said that further charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
