HINTON - Dozens of veterans and their families gather in Hinton this weekend to honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

The Bluefield Marine detachment, vets and several speakers were at the Hinton Elks Lodge No. 821 celebrating Veterans Appreciation Day. Among the honored was Mekot Camara, who was killed 30 years ago in Lebanon when a suicide bomber drove his explosive truck into the barracks.

The explosion killed hundreds of other marines, but to share Camara's story, his sister Elisa holds book signings around the country. Her book is titled "American Brother."
