Ohio woman embezzled thousands from former employer, police say

An Ohio woman faces charges in West Virginia after authorities say she stole $150,000 dollars from her former employer.

Connie Lynn Whitley, 50, faces a felony embezzlement charge, according to State Police. The Proctorville woman is accused of taking money while working as a bookkeeper for Uptowner Inn Inc., which owns several hotels and apartments in West Virginia. 

Whitley wrote 191 checks to herself from five different accounts, according to authorities.
