BECKLEY - Thousands of used books are for sale at The Register-Herald's annual sale in Beckley.

The public is welcome to come to the Hyundai of Beckley, where hardbacks cost $1 and paperbacks cost 50 cents. Profits will benefit the Newspapers in Education program, which puts papers in 22 schools over several counties.

"It's great to come out here," The Register-Herald's Earnest Horn told WOAY. "This is an event that benefits all the kids that we serve with the Newspaper in Education program. I definitely encourage them to come out and to look at it. We have a wide array of books they can choose from, and it's for all ages."

The books were donated by community members and local businesses. Anyone interested in donating can still do so at the Hyundai of Beckley, the newspaper office or their satellite offices.

The book sale will continue Saturday, Oct. 31, and Nov. 1 and 2 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
