ROANOKE - The 2013 West Virginia Governor's One Shot Whitetail Hunt will take place Friday and Saturday at the Stonewall Resort State Park in Lewis County.

It's the seventh year for the fundraising event that will benefit the Hunters Helping Hungry Program.  Since it's first year, One Shot has donated more than $300,000 to the program.  All hunting will take place on private land, only antlerless deer are harvested, and all venison is donated directly to Hunters Helping Hungry.

The hunt began with the traditional "Sighting in of the Rifles" at the resort's shooting range Friday afternoon.

Sen. Joe Manchin was expected to attend.
