OAK HILL - Organizers are
preparing for an annual blood drive to honor a local woman who died from breast
Terri Massey Memorial Blood Drive is this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the
Oak Hill Gospel Tabernacle. Organizers hope to collect at least 150 units of
blood to surpass the regional blood drive record of 149 units.
Appointments are still
available and walk-ins are welcome. Organizers said it is important to donate
because blood transfusions can extend lives. “We know what it's like as
a family for one of your family members to need blood,” explained Adam Treadway,
Massey’s sister. “We're excited to help give somebody else blood that's going
to need it and that's in a tough situation in the hospital or any kind of
sickness that they may be facing.”
