BECKLEY - If you have a sweet tooth then Monday is the perfect day for you because it's National Dessert Day and one restaurant is celebrating that and helping children at the same time.

Long John Silver's has introduced a month-long campaign to raise money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, the restaurant's national charity partner. Since Monday is National Dessert Day customers who make a $1 donation will receive a free slice of pie and the money will go to West Virginia University's Children's Hospital.

"I think it's very important because it's here in our own state and all the all the money goes straight to the children, we don't make any profit or anything off of it so it goes to all the children, and I think it's a great day to celebrate dessert day," said Assistant Manager Staci Prater.

They gave around 100 pies to customers who donated to the cause.
