OAK HILL - Meet Charlie Chaplin and Violet in this week's Adopt a Pet!

Charlie Chaplin is five-month-old black and white domestic short-hair cat. He's been at the shelter for about a month and a half, so he's more than ready for his forever home. He's friendly, lovable, and purrs all the time.

Violet is a three-year-old beagle-pekingese mix. She came to the shelter as a stray.  Violet is a great girl, but is a little timid at first, especially around men, but once she gets used to you she loves everyone's attention.

If you're interested in either Charlie Chaplin or Violet, you can head on down to the shelter in Beckwith or call (304)-574-3682.

There are a couple of adoption events Saturday.  The first is at PetSmart at the Crossroads Mall from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  The second is at Tractor Supply Company in Oak Hill from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

On October 20th the shelter is participating in a "build-a-bed" project.  They're looking for volunteers to help build the beds that help keep the dogs off of the floor. It's scheduled to take place at the Fayetteville United Methodist Church from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The shelter is always looking for donations, but volunteers said they really need a dryer this time around. They are currently over capacity and all the animals bedding needs to be washed every day.
