Local - 10/11/2013 4:20 PM
UPDATE:

PINEVILLE - Law enforcement in Wyoming County arrested 29 people so far in the latest drug roundup.

Officials said they are looking for 8 more suspects.  All 37 are facing a combined total of 104 felony counts related to the sale of drugs in the county.

The Southern Violent Crime and Drug Task Force, Wyoming County Sheriff's Deputies, and state troopers started serving warrants around 6:30 Friday morning and confiscated prescription pills, money and weapons.

All of the suspects are sellers, according to Sheriff Randall Aliff. "They're all the type of people that just sell these pills to get by," he explained. "A lot of their income comes from these. They don't work - they sell pills."

Aliff and Wyoming County Prosecutor Mike Cochrane agreed the suspects will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. "Here in Wyoming County, if you sell drugs, you will go to jail," said Cochrane. "We're going to stop everybody from doing that. That's our major focus here."

Prescription pills are the main drug problem in the county, according to Aliff and Cochrane. Suspects who did not post bond are being held in Southern Regional Jail.
