MORGANTOWN - West Virginia University is looking for faith-based groups in three Southern counties to participate in a physical activity program.

The WVU Department of Orthopedics wants ten groups in McDowell, Mercer, and Wyoming Counties for the second phase of a study on reducing falls.  The physical activity program aims at improving balance and reducing falls in older adults by using gentle and self-paced exercises.

The program can improve quality of life, muscle strength, sleep, flexibility, and balance.  It hoped to enroll 240 men and women in the 16-week class.

Participants must be older than 65.
