Four area schools to receive instruments

CHARLESTON - Eight public schools in West Virginia will receive new musical instruments from the VH1 Save the Music Foundation.

Each school will get $30,000 worth of clarinets, flutes, and other instruments.  Four schools in our area are joining the program this year.  They are: Beckley-Stratton Middle School, Summers Middle School, Summersville Middle School. and Trap Hill Middle School.

The program is a partnership with the foundation and the State Division of Culture and History.

The agency said that 43 schools have received more than a million dollars worth of instruments since 2010.
