CHARLESTON - The West Virginia Supreme Court upheld a Raleigh County man's conviction for murdering his wife.

Christopher Wayne Bowling, 40, of Daniels, was given a life sentence without mercy for the 2010 shooting death of Tresa.  The justices affirmed the conviction by a vote of three to two.

Justices Menis Ketchum and Margaret Workman said Bowling should have been granted a new trial because of errors, including holding a pretrial conference on questionable evidence in front of the media.  The majority said the errors weren't enough to warrant a reversal of the conviction.
