GHENT - A public sewer system being built in the Shady Spring area is entering phase two but has some people worried.
The Ghent Volunteer Fire Department will be playing host to a public meeting on Tuesday discussing the issue of phase two of the installment by the Shady Spring Public Service District. Some people are worried that homeowners will be paying extra expenses that are not needed because their septic tanks are already working.
"It's usually about the rates, the right a ways, what impact it has on each home owner. We built a new plant 7 or 8 years ago and it's a continuation of the county getting adequate sewage to the homes in the area," said general manager of Shady Spring PSD.
The meeting starts at 6 p.m. and is scheduled until 8 p.m.
