Shutdown won't affect availability of livestock prices

CHARLESTON - The state Department of Agriculture said the government shutdown won't affect the availability of the state's livestock sales prices.

The department usually posts a link on it's website to the U.S. Department of Agruculture's national report, but the state department said it will post it's own up-to-date report on West Virginia's sales.

Agriculture Commissioner Walt Helmick said the department wanted to make sure that livestock producers had uninterrupted access to the sales information.
