CHARLESTON - Applications are now accepted for a program that helps low-income West Virginia households pay utility bills.
The nonprofit Dollar Energy Fund partnered with companies across the state for the Utility Assistance Program. It provided grants to maintain or restore gas, electric, and water services. More than 30,000 households have benefited from the program since 2008.
Eligible folks can apply once per utility until September 30, 2014 to avoid termination. The maximum grant amount is $500.
