DOSWELL, Va. - A ceremony was held to remember a Virginia State Trooper who died while directing traffic at the state fair.
More than 70 law enforcement officers, state, and local officials attended the ceremony Thursday for Trooper Andrew D. Fox at the Meadow Event Park in Caroline County, Va. Two plaques that bear his name will be mounted at the park, one outside the public safety operations center and another inside the building.
Fox was killed on October 5, 2012 when he was hit by an SUV while he worked on a special assignment at the state fair. He was 27 at the time. Fox joined the State Police in 2006 and was a Tazewell County native.
