UPDATE: New details are released surrounding a double shooting in Wyoming County that sent two men to the hospital early Thursday morning.
According to Sheriff Randall Aliff, the incident happened at around 12:50 a.m. in Elk Lick at the home of Timothy Green. Aliff said that Gregory Pelphrey and a woman companion were traveling South on Route 971 when they got into an argument and the woman ran out of the vehicle towards Green's residence. That's when Pelphrey started slashing the tires on Green's vehicle. The two men started fighting and Pelphrey shot Green in the hand. Aliff said Green was able to get the gun from Pelphrey and shot him.
The incident remains under investigation.
UPDATE: Wyoming County Sheriff Randall Aliff told Newswatch that they have a person of interest in connection to the double shooting in Clear Fork.
Aliff said more details will be released later on Thursday morning, including the names of those involved.
CLEAR FORK - Deputies in Wyoming County are looking into a shooting that sent two men to different hospitals early Thursday morning.
Dispatchers confirmed that the incident happened at around 12:50 a.m. in the Clear Fork area. They said that one man was taken to Raleigh General Hospital and the other was transported to Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital. Both Jan Care and STAT EMS responded to the scene.
The Wyoming County Sheriff's Department is handling this investigation.
