BECKLEY - A possible levy is the topic at a special meeting of the Raleigh county board of education on Tuesday.
Dozens of educators, school personnel and community leaders filled Munson Hall for a presentation of the current levy call and facility bond history. Raleigh County Schools are currently debt free and looking for more than $22 million. Tuesday’s meeting was the first step to get community involvement is various planning committees such as athletic support community and student services as well as employee benefits. Board officials say enacting a bond is well needed.
The next special board meeting is scheduled at the Raleigh County Convention Center on October 8th at 5:30pm.
