Rainelle man arrested for alleged sexual asault on an 11-year-old girl

RAINELLE - A Greenbrier County man was arrested for an alleged sexual assault on a little girl.

Markell Mosley, 20, of Rainelle, was charged with two counts of first degree sexual assault and two counts of first degree sexual abuse.  Police Chief J.P. Stevens said that Mosley was arrested Tuesday night after an extensive investigation into a sexual assault complaint first reported on September 26, 2013.  Stevens said that Mosley confessed to sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl on two separate occasions while the victim was at a friend's house.

Mosley was lodged in Southern Regional Jail on $60,000 bond.

According to Stevens, if Mosley is convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison and a $5,000 fine for each count of sexual abuse and up to 100 years in jail and a $25,000 fine for each count of sexual assault.
