CHARLESTON - A Nicholas County pill dealer is sentenced to eight years in prison for oxycodone distribution.

Carlos Copen, 23, of Richwood was sentenced in federal court today. US Attorney Booth Goodwin says Copen pleaded guilty in June to aiding and abetting the distribution of oxycodone.

On May 31, 2011, Copen sold oxycodone pills to a confidential informant working in cooperation with the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force.

The illegal pill transaction took place at Copen's Nicholas residence. Copen also participated in numerous other illegal pill transactions in and around Nicholas County.
