Fayette Co. Board of Education Member passes away

Fayetteville - A longtime Fayette County Board of Education member has died.

70-year-old David Arritt died at home Sunday. Arritt was a graduate of Fayetteville High School, Marshall University, and the West Virginia College of Graduate Studies. He played football at and served in the U.S. Army. He served as the Assistant Director for Fayette Plateau Vocational Center and Principal at Rosedale and Fayetteville Elementary Schools. David served on the Fayette County School Board for over 21 years, making him the longest serving member in its long history. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Fayetteville.

Arritt is survived by his wife Maria Williamson Arritt and children.

 Viewing will be at Dodd-Payne- Hess Funeral Home on October 1, 2013 from 6 to 8pm. A private funeral service will be held for family members.
