HINTON - Children in Hinton may have another option for day care after the city's only private provider shut down. Officials are planning to offer city-operated care to residents. Mayor Joe Blankenship says the day care center will fill a void in the city, and it will also allow them to utilize empty space in the Hinton Technology Center. He says this will provide an economic boost, as quality child care is a drawing point for many workers. The State Fire Marshal's Office is currently reviewing the city's plans, and the center is expected to open later this year.
