BECKLEY - A man is arrested after allegedly making multiple bomb threats to a Raleigh county business

From September 11-17 the Beckley Police Department responded to five bomb threats at a Walmart on Eisenhower Drive. The suspect identified as 26-year-old Travis Lee Persinger is being charged with three counts of false report of an explosive device.

The Beckley Police Department tells Newswatch Persinger is employed at the Walmart where the threats were made and Persinger allegedly told authorities he made the treats out of boredom.

"It has a profound effect not only on the business itself but on the people who feel uneasy in general being in the area. Basically he didn't take the situation very seriously it appears and he has since realized the seriousness of the crime," said detective M.G. Bragg.

Persinger could face up to 3 years in prison and be held liable for any loss to the business or its employees.
