BEAVER - The School of Harmony in Beaver has received numerous honors and awards over the years but now they are being honored with an even bigger award.

The Steinway and Sons announced they had been approved to begin an initiative to become an All-Steinway School of Distinction. This campaign includes purchasing brand new Steinway grand pianos for all piano teaching studios and performance areas. According to Dr. Jacob Womack of the school there are only thirty All-Steinway School of Distinctions in the world and twenty in the United States. He tells Newswatch what this means for the future of the school.

"It's going to be a dramatic difference, a night and day difference," said Dr. Womack. "It's going to take us from pianos being donated and pianos being replaced to pianos that are interesting and high quality condition, and to be able to have the name All-Steinway School of Distinction in Beaver West Virginia would be an incredible achievement."

The school has scheduled the inaugural event for Friday September 27.
