FAYETTEVILLE - The Historic Fayette Theater is holding auditions for a Christmas play later this year.

The auditions held are for the play "Miracle on 34th Street" about a traditional story of Kris Kringle and believing in the Christmas spirit. The play is directed by Gene Worthington who has directed numerous plays like "Smoke on the Mountain" and "A Christmas Carol." Performers tell Newswatch they are excited to audition for a part in the play.

"It's like an outlet for me and it's like a new person, I'm someone else and like nobody would expect it from me and people are like "Whoa is that her?" so it's really cool," said Casey Rule-Hayes.

"My mom and my sister were in a play and they seem to enjoy it a lot so I wanted to and I just think it would be really fun," said Smiley Weatherford.

The play dates are November 29th, 30th, December 1st, 6th, 7th and 8th.
