BECKLEY - The University of Charleston is seeing its highest student enrollment in nearly 40 years.
Officials said the university had 1,935 enrolled for the 2013 to 2014 school year. There is a 66 percent increase in students are at the Charleston campus from 10 years ago. UC Beckley, UC Martinsburg and UC online have 526 students for their first complete school year.
UC Beckley President Dr. Jerry Forster said he is pleased with the increase. He said the university is committed to serving students in the region.
Officials attribute the overall growth to UC's regional expansions and the success of their graduate programs.
