BLUEFIELD - Two men are sentenced on federal drug charges following a crackdown on prescription drug trafficking in Southern West Virginia
U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin says Tyler Thorpe, 71, of Bluefield and Robert J. Fleek, 31, of Baltimore were both sentenced as a result of the Bluefield Pill Initiative which launched in 2011.
Thorpe received more than 4 years for distributing dialaudid, he plead guilty in April. Fleek received a 2 and a half year sentence for also distributing dialaudid and another drugs which helps people overcome an opiate addiction.
The Bluefield Pill Initiative targets prescription drug traffic in Mercer, McDowell and Wyoming Counties.
