UPDATE: Officials identify remaining victims

UPDATE (9/3/2013): Police have identified the two men killed in Monday's fatal accident in Hico.

Capt. Jim Sizemore with the Fayette County Sheriff's Department said that Curtis Ray West, 35, and Randall Wilson, 37, both of Fayetteville, died in the single vehicle crash on Route 60.

UPDATE - Two people are dead and another hurt after an accident on Route 60 Monday afternoon.

According to Sheriff Steve Kessler, At approximately 2:30pm on Monday, a single-vehicle accident occurred. The car overturned, one person was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, another person trapped inside the car was also pronounced dead at the scene. A third victim, identified as Daniel Allen Smith, 32, of Fayetteville was partially ejected from the car, Smith was flown to CAMC and is said to be in stable condition.

The identities of the two deceased individuals is not being released at this time.

A preliminary investigation into the accident indicates that the vehicle was traveling East on Route 60 at an extremely high rate of speed and was in passing several other vehicles. The driver of the vehicle lost control when trying to reenter the right lane and struck an embankment. The car then began rolling and went airborne before landing on its top in the roadway.

It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, the Sheriff's Department continues to investigate.
