UPDATE (9/2): Officials have identified the third victim of Saturday's fatal crash on 612 near Mossy.

Capt. Jim Sizemore with the Fayette County Sheriff's Department said that the woman has been identified as Donna Moran, 52, of Scarbro.

MOSSY - A car accident on Route 612 near Mossy killed three people Saturday night.

Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler said the victims of the crash have been identified as Robert Dean Manning, 54, and Edward Miller, age unknown, both of Scarbro. The third victim is a 52-year-old female from the area whose name is not being released at this time, pending notification of her next-of-kin.

The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Kessler. When crews arrived on-scene, a Chevrolet Silverado extended-cap pickup truck was overturned at the center of the roadway, with one of the victims pinned underneath. The two others were ejected from the vehicle and lying on the roadway. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

Captain Jim Sizemore said alcohol is most likely a contributing factor to the accident. "We have witness statements that they had been drinking together earlier in the day and you could detect the odor of alcoholic beverages at the scene," Sizemore said.

Kessler said excessive speed is also believed to have contributed to the accident. Investigators have not yet determined who was driving the truck, but the vehicle was registered to Manning.

The preliminary investigation indicates the pickup truck was traveling East on Route 612 when it ran off the right edge of the roadway, according to Kessler. When the vehicle re-entered the roadway it began sliding, then overturned and began rolling. All three occupants were ejected from the truck during the accident.

Paul Bricker was the first person at the scene of the accident. He was staying at his parents house in Scarbro when he heard the crash. He said he tried to help the victims before he realized they had already died. "It was kind of a rush at first...and when I saw that there wasn't anyone to help, then it was just very saddening."

Units from the Oak Hill Fire Department, Jan Care and General Ambulance Services and the Fayette County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is investigating this accident. Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 304-574-4216 or the Fayette County 911 Center at 304-574-3590. They can also submit information through the Crime Tips section of the Sheriff's Office website or through the department Facebook page, "Fayette County Sheriff's Department."
