CHARLESTON - State court officials said attempts to settle several hundred lawsuits against Mountain State University were unsuccessful.
Supreme Court Spokeswoman Jennifer Bundy said that the three-day court-ordered mediation ended Wednesday without a resolution. The students sued the school after it closed it's doors because it lost accreditation. Their lawsuits claimed that school officials were deceptive about the problems the university faced.
The lawsuits were assigned to the state court's mass litigation panel.
MSU was the first higher education institution in the state's history to have it's school-wide accreditation revoked.
